Our client is a Lloyd's syndicate with a large book of international property business consisting of both open market and binder business written primarily on syndicate paper. The team is large and due to the size and volume of the book there is the requirement to add an assistant underwriter to the team.

Typical duties are underwriting business in line with the property strategy and within authority parameters for the syndicate and the business is a varied mix of non-US property business from around the world. An assistant underwriter will typically be undertaking analysis of the class and maintaining / leveraging relationships with key broking houses that support the business. The role will assist the team in processing data into relevant systems, ensuring accuracy in entry for all reporting purposes and sitting in various project teams which relate to topics such as cyber or pandemics (as examples) in order to understand the books exposure to risk.

Candidates will need to have a minimum of 2 years international property experience with a carrier or Lloyd's syndicate, with Lloyd's experience preferred. A degree or a suitable qualification relating to Insurance and international property experience is essential and exposure to modelling, pricing and policy wordings would be beneficial.
