As a Senior Backend and Infrastructure Engineer, you will be a critical part of our highly skilled international software development team, and make a huge impact.
The client is growing and expanding fast, and are building out their software developers to further accelerate their growth.
What you will be doing
- Work with the front-end team to create highly efficient back-end solutions for the B2C (eCommerce) website
- Drive the direction and management of their cloud based infrastructure
- Design and implement solutions in collaboration with operations, marketing, and other internal teams and partners
- Use 3rd party APIs for everything including payment, shipping, warehouse management, and more
- Use your creativity and experience to propose and build new solutions
- Surround yourself with smart and motivated people in a high energy and fun startup environment
Required Qualifications & Skills
- PHP
- Git
- Docker or other container technology experience
- One of MySQL / PostgreSQL / Aurora
- A love and a keen eye for high quality code
- An irresistible urge to automate everything
- An honest, pragmatic, and results-oriented mindset; comfortable giving and receiving open and honest feedback
- Fluency in English is required
- Permission to work in the country you are applying in
Bonus points for:
- CI/CD pipelines (esp. Gitlab)
- PHP frameworks such as Symfony and/or Laravel
- Kubernetes or similar, microservices, cloud deployments (Amazon AWS), infrastructure scaling
- Networking concepts, load balancers, firewalls
- Comfortable with Linux, Unix, *BSD, or macOS
- Test-driven Development
- Working in a scrum team in an agile environment
- German language skills are a plus
