Job description

A major insurance broker is looking for a Business Development Manager to join its specialty division with the view of promoting and selling financial services solutions to SME and mid-corporate businesses. This will be to cover the South region and therefore it would be ideal if you were based central to the region (within 50-75 miles of London) – you will be home based and hence will need to be able to travel to clients / branches throughout the region.

The role itself will involve meeting with prospects to understand their potential requirements and level of interest for the product, taking this information to a panel of providers to obtain quotes, running through the quotes with the client to successfully agree terms, finalise the transaction and on board the client into the account management team.

To obtain potential clients, leads will be generated through two main channels. Firstly and mostly; network and existing clients – educating the large branch network as to the benefit of the product so they can promote on your behalf and gain leads for you to qualify, also to speak with and meet existing clients of the company to promote this specific product. Secondly; self-generation – this could be through introducer networks (referrals will be paid) or purely direct contact).

Your background should be centred around winning new business in a B2B environment, typically a financial solution or service such as invoice finance, commercial finance, corporate cards, data (e.g credit data), collections, employee benefits, or similar . The client contact you will be pitching to will most often be FD’s and MD’s.

A personal development path exists for individuals who wish to progress, this could either be into a leadership role building a larger team of development executives around you, or into a more senior role focusing on large corporates and global businesses.

In return you’ll receive a competitive basic salary, an expensed car (or allowance), bonus for sales above threshold, mobile / laptop and all tools required to work remotely.

Please note: this opportunity is only open to EU visa holders who are presently habiting in the UK or are en route to the UK. No visa sponsorship available, no relocation allowance available.
