Global retail bank is currently searching for a Capital Policy & Advisory Manager to join their London team. This is newly created role that sits in Treasury Finance and will support and provide advice to business areas and capital functions on the capital impact of potential transactions, along with ensuring that appropriate governance arrangements are applied and operated for capital decision-making within the bank.

Responsibilities:

  • Key role in establishing the capital treatment of potential and developing transactions
  • Support the development of Capital and Leverage efficient structures and strategies, in particular Significant Risk Transfer Securitisations and transactions using other Credit Risk Mitigation techniques
  • Enhancing the governance and control around capital-related rule interpretations and transaction capital treatment decisions
  • Supporting UK teams regulatory interaction with the PRA on capital-related models and disclosures
  • Supporting finance division regulatory interaction with the PRA and ECB for capital based permission requests and data provision
  • Supporting assessment of capital-based performance of proposed and actual transactions
  • Identifying key elements of the banks UK capital forecasts, and enhancing analytical capabilities, in particular in relation to Pillar 2
  • Supporting the analysis and escalation of issues from major Regulatory proposals, and working with Public and Regulatory Policy teams on UK and Group responses to consultations and interaction with policy makers, as well as contributing to the development of trade association consultation responses

Requirements:

  • Proven experience in either a capital policy/advisory or capital regulatory reporting role
  • Currently working in another retail bank, regulator or Big 4 Consultancy
  • In-depth experience of implementing and analysing Regulatory Capital rules, in particular on Credit Risk and Securitisation
  • Good understanding of key CRD IV capital rules for structured transactions, in particular in relation to Securitisation and Credit Risk Mitigation - preferable but not essential
  • Excellent written communications skills and attention to detail
  • Strong academic background - minimum 2:1 degree

This is high profile across the bank which will have regular interaction with both internal and external stakeholders including the PRA and it is therefore essential that you have strong interpersonal skills. The role offers realistic progression to a Director role or internal mobility to credit risk in the future. The bank operates a hybrid flexible working environment with 2 days in the office per week.
