Job Description

A top tier bank is looking to hire a senior VP into the compliance testing team. 

The key purpose of the role is to conduct compliance testing reviews across the bank’s global markets division in the UK&I region, to ensure internal controls are fit for purpose and adhere to regulatory requirements. 

Key responsibilities

  • Manging the compliance testing (CT) programme and leading on both desk-based and thematic reviews across the business.
  • Analysing the risk-based approach for reviews and liaising with colleagues in various jurisdictions in updating the procedures in the CT methodology.
  • Writing up reports on the findings of reviews; highlighting the potential risks the business is exposed to.
  • Working with business line compliance officers and senior management to agree on any necessary changes required as a result of the findings.
  • Overseeing the junior members within the team and deputising for the Head of the function when necessary.

Skills & qualifications

  • Educated to degree level and external compliance qualifications are advantageous.
  • Extensive experience in conducting reviews and testing controls, ideally from a similar corporate and investment banking background.
  • An awareness of the regulatory landscape within the UK&I region and an ability to spot emerging trends/best practice within the industry.
  • Experience of supervising junior team members is preferable and keen to pursue directorship in a few years.
  • Excellent senior stakeholder management, interpersonal and rapport-building skills.
  • Highly analytical, process-driven and a strong report writing ability.
