My client is an established player in the Financial Services sector.
The data scientist will be expected to deliver on group-level data science projects and initiatives to drive business performance. This role works with key stakeholders such as members of the management team to implement data science solutions.
Responsibilities:
Develop and improve machine learning models for the business.
Implement and drive the adoption of analytics insights in current and new business processes, as an advocate for analytics and insights.
Be involved in the development of data products in the team and visualisation dashboards to monitor outcomes of the models.
Understand and take accountability for business risks in relation to data science and implement best practices to mitigate risks.
What the ideal candidate looks like:
Mathematical/technical academic background - for example, a Master's or PhD in analytics, statistics, computer science etc.
5 or more years of experience in Data Scientist roles, in Banking & Finance / Insurance domain preferred.
Proficiency in Python, SQL programming is required.
Working knowledge in ML techniques and statistical techniques, such as regression, random forest, text mining.
Exposure to Scikit-learn, numpy, tensorflow and other open-source libraries is required.
