I am recruiting for a Lloyd's syndicate that requires an Underwriter (or an Assistant Underwriter) to manage and grow a midstream energy book as the client base transition away from traditional downstream energy insurance products. The role will complement the Lead Underwriter in the running of a book as the clients look at embracing carbon capture, hydrogen and LNG products.
The role will be more underwriting led with an emphasis on trading, portfolio management, product design and pricing rather than the running of accumulation data reports and CAT modelling which is all done elsewhere.
The role would suit anyone in the insurance market with an energy underwriting or broking background that feels like they have hit a glass ceiling, or perhaps work on a decreasing downstream energy account. Candidates will ideally need to be confident enough to service the brokers at the box and meet clients when required, therefore Lloyd's experience is essential.
