IFRS17 Expense Business Partner

Leading Lloyds Insurer is currently seeking an Expense Business Partner to join the newly created IFRS17 finance function team in London. This role has arisen due to a strategic restructure to create a centralised IFRS17 Finance function and encompasses engaging with a wide range of stakeholders across the business and developing strong working relationships both inside and outside of Finance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ownership of IFRS17 Expense Tool and reconciliation of IFRS17 expenses to GAAP expenses
  • Ensuring correct extract of expense output is entered into the IFRS17 Calculation Engine
  • Striving to develop IFRS17 expense capabilities for process efficiency and reporting effectiveness
  • Business Partnering of IFRS17 expenses to the business, including reporting and analysis, and Forecasting/Budgeting
  • Reviewing and ensuring delivery of IFRS17 expense MI to key stakeholders, and working with them to provide suitable commentary and approval
  • Completing Ad-hoc tasks required by the project, and dealing with Ad-hoc requests from the business
  • Develop knowledge of the organisation and accounting policies adopted
  • Delivery of timely and accurate MI to all stakeholders
  • Understanding and identifying all key drivers behind the different views of reported IFRS17 expense results

Key Requirements:

  • Qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA)
  • Experience and understanding of the insurance market (preferably Lloyds) either in business partnering or IFRS17 Reporting role.
  • Experience of business partnering within complex organisations and knowledge of accounting policy impacts - preferred
  • Ability to review existing models, processes, and procedures, and implement improvements to increase efficiency of the team
  • Stakeholder management and relationship building skills
