A market-leading London based hedge fund is seeking to appoint an experienced finance professional into a newly created role. This position is brand new, yours to create, and will offer a unique opportunity to get stuck into anything and everything within finance.

The role will be incredibly vast, from all financial and management accounting, fund accounting, budgeting and forecasting through to financial planning and analysis. It's a three-person finance team, everyone is hands-on and you're guaranteed to have plenty of variety and spice in your life day to day. The firm place entrepreneurialism at the forefront of everything they do and this role will be no exception with a heavy emphasis placed on adding value beyond the day to day finance. In particular, you'll be responsible for spearheading automation projects using programming to streamline existing processes.

From a stakeholder management point of view, you'll also gain plenty of senior exposure. The role offers daily interaction with the founding partners as you'd present to them regularly; ideal for building up longer-term FD/CFO credentials.

Culture and fun factor is also a big selling point - the business is a very sociable company that believes strongly in promoting a healthy work-life balance and positive well being for their staff. You'll have plenty of opportunity to learn and develop your career via in-house and external training and courses, be that further professional studies or something linked to your hobbies or interests. They have a fully kitted out on-site gym, kitchen stuffed with food, snacks and drinks and a host of other cool little bits and pieces to help you enjoy your working day.

In terms of the candidate - our ideal person would be:

- A fully qualified accountant or equivalent with excellent academics and at least 1-3 years post qualified experience or similar.

- Someone with an audit background is preferred, ideally with exposure to investment management clients

- Someone with some sort of programming experience (e.g. VBA). It is important to note, you don't have to be an expert BUT a foundation level of understanding is required.
