Job Description

A newly created opening for an experienced Finance Business Partner has arisen with an international specialty insurance business headquartered in London.

This is an attractive role focusing on the development of the finance business partnering team and the analytical capabilities of the business. Together with the Senior Finance Business Partner, you will work to enhance the transfer of planning and forecasting information from the underwriting team. 

Once the objectives of the new processes have been defined, the Finance Business Partner will then take ownership of providing a seamless analysis, reporting and business planning service in order to support effective underwriting decision making. 

Key duties: 

Business Partnering 

  • Support underwriting teams by providing explanations on financials and comparison of results against plan and previous year.
  • Challenge premium projections to ensure accuracy of numbers flowing to actuarial and finance.

Business Planning / Forecasting

  • Review and challenge business plan and forecasts.
  • Communicate unbiased analysis to aid underwriting decisions.
  • Produce reports tailored to various audiences on both planned and past performance.

Premium Planning

  • Develop Premium planning tool and assist in the roll out to Underwriting divisions. Continue to identify areas for improvement

Quarterly Group Reporting

  • Assist in producing an early sight of the quarter results including analysis and comparison against previous and against the budget
  • Present information ready for Senior Executives

Syndicate Business Forecast

  • Assist to gather forecasted figures from the syndicates
  • Ensure the forecasted numbers are accurate and robust

Other

  • Enhance consistency of information throughout the business
  • Implementation of KPI and targeted strategic financial objectives

The Successful Applicant:

If you are a Qualified Accountant and an experienced Finance Business Partner already working within the Insurance sector, and possess strong planning and process improvement/implementation experience, I would love to hear from you. Experience gained within the Lloyd’s Insurance market is preferred, but definitely not essential, as long as you have a deep understanding of general insurance financial information and processes.
