A leading global bank is seeking for an experienced professional to join their team as a Finance Data Analyst for their London desk. The role has been newly created and is an ideal opportunity for a candidate to gain wider experience in a more analytical position.
Responsibilities
- Working within the wide Financial Management team to help ensure the reports are properly managed and completed on time and to the appropriate quality
- To assist with all aspects of financial control for UK and International branches
- To assist with preparation and management of the annual budget process, monthly rolling forecast with quarterly reviews and annual assessments.
- Contribute towards strategic planning & goal setting.
- Responsible for the ongoing development of MI reporting
- Ensuring accurate filing and data control of all documents prepared by team and to cover the following.
- To work additionally with the Reporting Team to understand the current reporting structure, underlying data sources and collate requirements for improvements to reporting
- Help document the existing systems, data and links and gain an understanding of how the systems function currently
- Use data modelling practices and the knowledge of the banking business to analyse the findings and create suggestions for strategic and operational improvements and changes for the short/medium term
- Use the data and understanding gathered to map ideas onto the detailed requirements for the new reporting system
- Work with the business to identify the processes and information technology required to introduce a new or improved reporting system
- Work with external stakeholders to understand and investigate potential solutions for reporting
- Consider the opportunities and potential risks attached to the suggestions and support the staff and teams in making the recommended changes
Skills required:
- Part or fully qualified accountant - ACA/ACCA/CIMA
- Proven experience within the Banking industry in a Finance based role
- Skills in creating reports with either SQL / Crystal Reports / Qlikview or Tableau
- Strong analytical skills
- Excellent stakeholder management skills
