A market leading Private Equity firm is looking to appoint a commercially minded Finance Manager into a newly created role in their first class finance and middle office team. The fund is a stalwart of the private equity industry with a portfolio of well-known brand names and a successful track record of success to date. 
 
Reporting into the head of finance, this is a ‘right hand’ person role suited to an aspiring FD or CFO of the future looking for a more strategic and business facing role. 
 
Responsibilities will include:
  • Reviewing quarterly and annual fund management and statutory accounts and related information (all outsourced) 
  • Taking the lead on managing the portfolio business valuation process
  • Leading the operational finance aspects of the London adviser, including overseeing the production of management information 
  • Involvement in the strategic planning and budgeting / forecasting process
  • Gaining an in-depth knowledge of the financial and operating performance of portfolio businesses via review of monthly management information and interaction with the portfolio business finance teams
  • Acting as a key contact for accounting teams in Luxembourg, including reviews of management and statutory accounts as well as transaction support work 
  • Overseeing the investor tax reporting process
  • Management of a small team of qualified accountants
Your background:
  • Qualified accountant – preferably ACA/CA qualified or equivalent – with in-house experience in a similar role in a private equity firm
  • Strong experience across fund accounting, valuations and financial analysis
  • Able to demonstrate previous responsibility to be independent, multi-task, be flexible and work to tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent communication skills, including the ability to form relationships with people at all levels across front and back office
