A fast growing Venture Capital firm with an exceptional reputation and portfolio of tech-orientated start-ups is seeking to appoint a Financial Analyst into a newly created role. This crucial new position will be an essential point of contact and partner to the CFO and investment team, sitting in Finance but supporting a busy and highly active front office with a mixture of financial analysis, data analytics, financial modelling and ad hoc project work.
PLEASE NOTE this is not a front office role and is not a route to the investment side but would suit someone coming from a financial or data analytics orientated background in private equity, venture capital or investment management.
Responsibilities will include:
- Assist with compiling and analysing data from various sources to be used in presentations for case studies and other fund raising materials.
- Implement a robust process where data from various sources can be extracted effectively each quarter.
- Computation of various performance metrics.
- Update pitch decks and presentations used for new and existing investors.
- Update the internal CRM on a quarterly basis to ensure cashflows and performance metrics are up to date.
- Liaison with portfolio companies to ensure KPIs and financials have been updated.
- Assist the senior fund accountant with quarterly portfolio company valuations.
- Support the streamlining of quarterly reports to investors.
- Assisting with various reports post quarter end.
- Ad hoc support with other project work across Finance.
Your background:
- Excellent academics to degree level or higher with a strong preference for someone who holds formal accounting qualifications - ACA, CA, ACCA or similar.
- Experience working in-house at a private equity, venture capital or investment manager; used to the dynamics of a smaller nimble business.
- Strong analytical skills and ability to work with large amounts of data.
- Strong systems skills in Excel and analytics software like PowerBI or similar.
- Excellent communication skills, a positive, flexible and 'can do' attitude and ability to deliver under pressure.
- Ability to meet tight deadlines through excellent time management and organisation skills.
- Conscientious with excellent attention to detail.
Salary on offer is roughly £65,000 to £75,000 base plus exceptional bonus
