Job Description

A hands-on and rewarding opportunity for an experienced finance manager, financial controller or similar level to join this growing investment firm and family office in a pivotal senior appointment. The company are going through a rapid period of change and transformation with several fund launches underway, with this position newly created to work closely with the Finance Director on a mixture of corporate accounting, fund accounting oversight and process improvement work. The fund has activities across venture capital in addition to the usual eclectic mix that makes up a family office, ie: real estate and luxury lifestyle interests.

Broadly speaking this role will focus on supporting the firms venture capital business as their dedicated FC, overseeing all outsourced finance activities on the fund and corporate side as well as supporting the Partners with a host of ad hoc MI and financial analysis. A significant part of the role will at first initially involve working with the FD to upgrade, professionalise and put in place better reporting and analysis and you'll need to be comfortable working in a very fluid operating environment as finance has historically been under invested in. Over time it is expected the role will evolve to take on additional responsibilities across the family office providing you with plenty of scope to develop longer term and potentially manage a small team in the future.

In terms of background we're looking to speak to people who are a qualified accountant (ACA, CA or equivalent) with experience working in a small fund, be that a family office, private equity, venture capital, real estate/property or similar. It is likely you'll have a broad skill set on both the corporate and funds side and are roughly in the region of 4 to 5 years post qualified or equivalent. A robust, confident and strong personality is also key given there will be 6 to 9 months of project work required initially to improve what's currently in place. As such you'll need to have a positive attitude and willingness to get stuck into the detail, roll your sleeves up and take on a broad variety of tasks; the good, the bad and the ugly. The FD you'll be working for is hugely experienced and in return can offer you the prospect of working as part of a genuine Finance partnership where you'll have plenty of one on one coaching and mentoring and time dedicated to helping you learn and improve on your technical abilities.

Please definitely get in touch if you're on a short notice period and available within a month.

Salary on offer is £70-80,000 (DOE) plus benefits and bonus. Please apply online for immediate consideration or for more information or a confidential discussion please contact Glen Roberts on 02070923231 or email glen.roberts@eamesconsulting.com
