A boutique and fast-growing Private Equity fund is in the process of upskilling and professionalising its Finance and Operations team and is looking to add someone to focus on all financial control, reporting and operations for the management entities.

The successful candidate will work closely with the CFO/COO to improve processes and reporting to the Partners, working as part of a fun, sociable and high-performing Finance team. The role will cover elements of financial reporting, management accounting, budgeting, regulatory reporting and tax oversight, as well as oversight of broader business operations and compliance.

Hybrid working: 3 days in the office, 2 days remotely.

Responsibilities:

  • Production of the firm's monthly reporting pack; all basic accounting is outsourced and this role will manage the service provider and focus on producing all packs and analysis

  • Review of the annual audited accounts and ownership of the audit process

  • Budgeting and forecasting

  • Regulatory reporting including the preparation of the firm's ICARA

  • Cash flow forecasting, liquidity and treasury management

  • Review of tax/VAT returns (outsourced)

  • Ad hoc financial analysis for the Partners or Investors as required

  • Lots of involvement in project work related to business growth

  • Oversight of elements of broader business operations like compliance (outsourced)

Your background:

  • Qualified Accountant with excellent academics

  • A background in a small to medium-sized financial services company; experience in private equity or funds would be ideal but isn't necessary

  • Likely around the 5 years PQE mark or equivalent

  • An inquisitive mindset and positive attitude

  • Strong systems skills and keen to use technology to improve processes and automate manual tasks

  • Flexible and intelligent approach to working with competing deadlines

  • Happy being hands-on, good sense of humour and outgoing personality

Salary on offer is around £75-85,000 base range plus benefits and a healthy discretionary bonus.
