A newly created opportunity at a global real estate investment business for an experienced financial controller or finance manager level individual to join the corporate accounting team of this well known brand name firm, heading up all reporting and financial analysis for their Luxembourg entities.

Sitting in London as part of a UK/European finance function, the crux of the role will be to take a high level view on all things financial for the Lux business, relying on an outsourced provider to crank the handle and take care of the granular and routine accounting.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Sign off on month-end numbers, working closely with the outsourced provider to ensure monthly P&L and BS numbers are accurately booked and accounted for
  • Production of year-end financial statements for six Luxembourg entities including a regulated entity
  • Provide local support to Global FP&A team in preparing the annual budget and quarterly reforecast
  • Apply analytical scrutiny in understanding the monthly P&L to understand and challenge variances vs forecast
  • Timely and accurate monthly/quarterly regulatory reporting to the CSSF
  • Cash management, including cashflow projections, distribution planning, FX exposure management and driving timely collection of receivables
  • Proactive business engagement with Asset and Portfolio Managers to understand deal activity and transaction economics and related fees to establish appropriate billing schedules, time allocation code usage and entity/system configuration
  • Supporting ongoing ERP and systems upgrades
  • Some travel to Luxembourg is expected (likely once a quarter)

Your background:

  • Qualified Accountant - ACA, CA, ACCA or equivalent - with experience in a financial control, legal entity control or corporate accounting role in real estate, asset management or financial services more broadly
  • More than likely around the 4-5 years PQE mark working in-house at a company
  • Any exposure to Lux GAAP a huge advantage but not essential
  • Experienced at writing management variance commentary
  • Any exposure to direct/indirect tax or transfer pricing would also be very helpful
  • Personable, approachable and easy to get along with; adept at building up positive working relationships with internal and external stakeholders

Salary on offer is in the region of £80-90,000 base plus benefits and bonus. Hybrid working and central London location.
