Job Description

A financial risk reporting role has arisen within global financial services firm based in London.

Reporting to the head of Group Risk working with a team of 13, the risk reporting analyst will be responsible monitoring, assessing and reporting on financial risks across the organisation.

Key duties are as follows:

  • Collection of financial risk information from group
  • Analysis, interrogation and challenge of financial risk information
  • Preparation of regular financial risk reports to senior management & committees (currently quarterly), including provision of commentary
  • Managing workflow effectively so that information is gathered and reports are produced in a timely manner
  • Remaining conscious and contributing to where potential improvements to reporting and processes can be made
  • Monitoring financial risks around the Group, with a particular emphasis on credit risk
  • Maintaining the team work in progress list and procedures manual
  • Managing and maintaining regular communication and good relationships with stakeholders
  • Developing and maintaining skills and knowledge related to financial risk
  • Assisting in the formulation and implementation of policies, procedures and methodologies and ensuring adherence to regulatory requirements
  • Preparation of papers for senior committees

The ideal candidate will match the following description:

  • ACA (or similar) accounting qualification
  • Advanced knowledge of Excel and PowerPoint
  • Highly numerate
  • Good report writing skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills - ability to build relationships across the business
  • Experience within a banking / risk environment, or major accounting or consultancy firm
  • Knowledge of all or some of the following: regulatory capital, liquidity and credit risk
  • Numerate degree and good results at maths A level or equivalent
