Job Description

A new FP&A Manager has arisen within a leading specialty insurance business. This is a strategic financial planning / performance management position, and this individual will work as an individual contributor position working for a leading specialty insurance business initially. 

Reporting to the Head of FP&A - International, the FP&A Manager along with their peers contributes to the success of the business by providing support to the International CEO and CUO as well as the underwriting teams by providing robust financial reporting, strategic planning, insightful analysis and business partnering support. The International division consists of a Lloyd's syndicate and company platform, and is headquartered in the UK.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Lead the production of monthly and quarterly financial performance information such as:
    • Trading performance pack
    • Quarterly financial performance review including variance analysis
    • MD&A style report to support external reporting
    • Broker reports
    • Ad-hoc reports
  • Develop / enhance management reporting capabilities for the division in conjunction with the  MI team
  • Lead / coordinate the annual planning and forecasting exercises
  • Partner with Group finance in relation to period end close functions, requirements and enquiries
  • Assist with evaluating new business initiatives and strategic opportunities
  • Assist MI systems development

About the ideal candidate:

  • Qualified Accountant (ACA, CIMA, ACCA) with at least 5 years PQE
  • At least 7 years progressive finance experience with at least 2-3 years being in financial planning
  • Significant experience in the London Insurance market, and preferably some exposure to Lloyd’s 
  • Proficient in all areas of forecasting, accounting and reserving for a London market business, with exposure to complex systems / transactions
  • Exposure to reporting and underwriting systems such as IRIS, Oracle, Hyperion (or similar) and data warehouse technology
  • First class communication skills with the ability business partner with non-finance functions/professionals
