A high growth infrastructure fund are seeking to add a Fund Controller to the business, suited to someone making the move from Audit or a Professional Services environment with relevant client sector experience. This incredibly commercial and hands-on role would suit someone looking to work in a smaller fund and broad role, covering elements of fund accounting oversight, valuations, performance analysis and deal support.
Working closely with the CFO/COO, this is a superb time to join the business and get in early as they begin to build out their Finance, Ops and Middle Office team.
Key responsibilities:
- Take charge of the oversight of the external Fund administrators and management of quarterly and annual reports; annual audited financial statements; capital call notices and distribution notices to investors; cash and liquidity management and monitoring of the Funds' revolving credit facilities
- Ensuring accurate and timely management and financial reporting across the portfolio both internally and externally to LPs and GPs
- Accurate calculations of GP share / management fees
- Co-ordination of the quarterly portfolio valuation process
- Monitor and manage a portfolio of FX forward contracts
- Detailed asset and portfolio cash flow analysis (IRR and multiple preparation/ tracking)
- Monitoring levels of unfunded commitment and future cash forecasts
- Preparation of fund waterfall models
- Work closely with the Asset Management and Investment teams on financial aspects of Investments
- Assist in the tax structuring of target investments
- Awareness of changes to accounting standards and ILPA and IPEV guidelines
- Liaising with tax, legal advisers, independent valuation experts and auditors as required
- Take responsibility for the maintenance of the Fund model and assist in the preparation of Fund level business plans and cash flow projections
- Support fundraising and investor negotiations
- Ad hoc project work
Your background:
- Fully qualified accountant - CA, ACA, ACCA or equivalent - and likely around the 2 to 3 years PQE+ mark
- First mover from Audit, Professional Services or Fund Admin with relevant industry exposure to private equity or alternative investments
- Strong technical and analytical skillset
- Hands-on and positive attitude; happy to get stuck into the detail
- Excellent communication skills, outgoing personality, confident talking to front office, investors and service providers.
Salary on offer is £75-85,000 base plus benefits and exceptional bonus potential.
