An ideal opportunity for a commercially minded and savvy Financial Controller, Head of Finance or similar to join this owner managed and independent Advisory firm in a new appointment related to growth. The company are headed up by a number of industry veterans with an impressive client base and top tier position in their respective market. In a nutshell this role would support the COO as their right hand person and oversee all of finance and operations in a highly energetic and entrepreneurial operating environment.
Responsibilities will be vast as you can imagine from overseeing all corporate accounting through to preparing the monthly Board pack, budgeting/forecasting and all accounting and administration of the LLP. You’ll also need to be comfortable picking up other areas of finance like tax and company secretarial in addition to supporting other non-revenue generating areas of the business like operations, IT, HR and marketing. Crucially the firm needs someone who can be a commercial sounding board for the Partners and it is expected that you’ll be involved in board meetings on a regular basis. Lastly this is a line management role suited to someone who would enjoy mentoring and leading a small finance team.
The firm are keen to speak to someone qualified – ACA, CA, ACCA or equivalent – with relevant experience in a broad and hands on role in a SME financial services business. You’ll need to be a confident and assertive individual with an outgoing personality, capable of operating as a trusted advisor to the Partners. This role would not suit someone who wants to hide in the corner in front of Excel all day long! Ideally you’ll also have familiarity with LLP accounting and be comfortable throwing yourself into a role that will involve a raft of tasks and challenges.
