Job Description

Rare opportunity for someone from a PE and/or M&A Tax background to make the move in-house to a European mid market firm in a hybrid Funds Finance and Tax role, ideally suited to either a Big 4 first mover at SM/AD/Director level or someone already working in-house at a PE fund or similar.

This highly regarded and top tier fund have grown year on year since their first fund was raised just over ten years ago. Their investment strategy has expanded into debt in the last five years, which has complimented their solid foundations in European mid market Private Equity. Finance and middle office has evolved over time to become a highly respected and integrated team who work closely with the investment and portfolio managers, covering elements of traditional funds finance through to deal support, valuations, structuring, tax and involvement in the acquisition and disposal process.

This role is a pivotal new appointment reporting into the Finance Director and would oversee a team of six, with an emphasis on providing more in-house tax knowledge and expertise. The company have always operated in a highly outsourced environment pushing most tax work out to the Big 4 however the complexity of the business has increased in recent years necessitating this hire. You'd need to be comfortable and confident of taking on a uniquely hybrid role, covering Finance (fund accounting oversight, valuations, deal support) on the one hand in addition to be the main point of contact internally for all funds/asset related tax work. There may also be some very high level involvement in the GPs personal tax matters including US tax compliance.

Ideally you'll be coming from a deals/front office Tax background, be that at a senior level from the Big 4 or perhaps someone already in-house who is looking for a more Finance orientated role. Or alternatively you could be from a Funds Finance background and have gravitated towards Tax. This represents a superb opportunity to take up a genuine leadership role in a growing firm with plenty of scope for you to stamp your mark.

Please get in touch for more information or a confidential discussion and all applications will be treated in the strictest of confidence. Overall compensation is likely to be in the region of £150-200K depending on experience.
