A well established, City based insurer seeks an senior infrastructure specialist and technology leader to own the operational environment outside of software development. Looking after a tech group of circa 20 with four direct reports, this multi-faceted role is incredibly broad and will require a pragmatic, detailed orientated individual with experience of supporting a global network.
The roles responsibilities will include:
- Backup of data, disaster recovery, security management, datacenter environment.
- Provide strategic guidance in relation to all IT networking matters.
- Provide support to the business for third party applications including enhancements, changes, upgrades and implementations.
- Manage the IT budget in relation to networking, hardware, licensing and associated costs.
- Manage IT suppliers including contracts, budgets, SLAs.
- Manage IT licensing.
- Involvement in overall IT strategic planning.
- Managing support team.
You will ideally have worked in the insurance industry but in reality, the firm would be interested in any background as long as the complexity and technical breadth is evident.
