Job Description

A global and trusted name in financial services has an attractive new opening for a Head of Procurement for their IT services division in Central London.

Role overview

The IT services division entered into a new outsourcing contract earlier this year which covers the provision of their IT infrastructure and associated project services. As a result of this, a new Vendor Management Office has been created to ensure the value of the contract is maintained, whilst managing delivery quality and the overall risk profile of the service. The Vendor Management Office contains contractual, performance, commercial and financial expertise.

The Head of Procurement will also be responsible for the management of all sourcing relationships within the IT services division. This will include enterprise level agreements with major software and hardware vendors and internet providers.

 Key responsibilities

  • Manage the overall VMO team. 
  • Build strategic relationships with key vendors and be involved in strategic level forums.
  • Develop/implement the vendor sourcing strategy.
  • Implement and own the Vendor Management Operating Model.
  • Oversee Vendor management cost, risk, and service management.
  • Manage overview of market analysis and benchmarking, and assessing of new opportunities.
  • Manage overview of vendor performance and service management.
  • Ensure the compliance of vendors to contractual agreements / regulatory requirements.
  • Responsible for the benefits driven from the vendor base.
  • Develop vendor engagement strategy based on vendor market dynamics, business and product needs, and technological changes.
  • Communicate strategy to the business and effectively manage the relationship with key stakeholders.
  • Establish KPIs based on contract clauses and business needs.
  • Ensure vendor management objectives are met.
  • Act as the key point of contact on all matters related to the vendor.
  • Agreeing and implementing vendor scorecards and ensure they are providing appropriate Management Information.
  • Review performance against service levels and agree upon necessary improvement plans with the vendors.
  • Conduct regular budget review meetings with CFO to monitor vendor performance. 
  • Monitor internal customer satisfaction.

Required Experience & Skills

  • Vendor Management experience with IT outsourcing arrangements. 
  • First generation IT Outsourcing experience is strongly preferred.
  • Experience of setting up new processes and governance.
  • Current knowledge of the IT vendor landscape including services offered and pricing.
  • Professional certifications in technology outsourcing.
  • Relevant experience of successfully managing sourcing relationships with software and cloud providers. 
  • A strong understanding and knowledge of IT contracts.
  • Excellent negotiation skills.
  • Strong commercial acumen.
  • Ability to operate and communicate with senior stakeholders up to Executive level.
  • Excellent financial & analytical skills.
  • Ability to lead a team with solid and dotted reporting lines.
