My client is a globally established General Insurer searching for an experienced Financial Controller to head up their Hong Kong office. Sat within the local business unit, this role will offer regional project collaboration and experience with other Financial Controllers in key areas of the APAC region and will report directly into the regional CFO. You will be overseeing a team of 10 people and effective communication skills will be imperative, with fluent English and Cantonese a necessity. Open to candidates with any insurance background including Big 4, with a preference for GI.

Responsibilities include:

  • Planning regulatory reports, Solvency reports, group and tax accounting policies processes among others
  • Leading the IFRS 17 and RBC implementation
  • Working closely with regional FP&A and Transformation teams to further financial planning processes and strategic review processes
  • Leading and implementing new General Ledger SAP projects
  • Leading the Hong Kong Finance Operations team

Requirements:

  • Over 10 years in Finance Management, with demonstrated leadership ability, preferably within GI 
  • A degree in Finance, Accounting or a Chartered Accountant/CPA qualification
  • A very strong knowledge of reporting framework, IFRS and accounting principles. USGAAP is a bonus
  • Effective communication skills to deal with senior and external stakeholders
