Infrastructure Systems Upgrade Architect
One of my large financial service clients are currently undertaking some large IT programmes of work, which include a Technical Upgrades programme (Infrastructure and Applications) and a Data Centre Migration programme, both of which are needing a senior technical infrastructure architect to come on board to review various elements of the broader IT estate, and help to define what needs migrating to the new Data Centre, and what needs to go through a general upgrade or decommissioning process.
Due to the nature of the role, you would need to have the following experience:
- Must have excellent experience as a Systems Analyst - with the ability to analyse various large enterprise IT estates, by system, including Servers, Operating Systems, Databases, Application software, versions, interactions/links/dependencies with other systems.
- The ideal candidate will be able to use advanced Excel features such as Pivot Tables and Query/SQL to analyse, relate, extract and present complex information in a form that other people can easily understand and use.
- experience of reviewing physical and virtual servers, VMWare, OVMware, Oracle DBMS, SQL Server DBMS, Windows, and Linux, as well as understanding various applications developed in-house using Java and other development tools, equally with 'off-the-shelf' and customised applications such as SAP.
