A leading insurance company is seeking a part or newly qualified accountant to join their team as an Internal Auditor operating within the European market. The role has been created through internal mobility and is an ideal opportunity for a candidate with Insurance/Audit experience to gain wider experience in a more technical position within financial services
Main duties
- Support the Head of Internal Audit and with the planning, testing and completion of value added internal audits across all European locations, to provide assurance on the internal controls environment, governance and risk management framework. With progression to leading internal audits as knowledge and experience of the organisation develops.
- Leading annual testing and system walkthroughs for all European locations to comply with regulations.
- Liaising with the stakeholders to obtain progress updates on control and audit findings and then performing remediation testing.
- Performing routine testing across all departments and areas including but not limited to, underwriting, claims, reinsurance, finance, human resources, risk management, Solvency II, governance, compliance and IT.
- Keeping up to date with regulatory, auditing and legal changes.
- Ad hoc projects and tasks.
Skills required / personal specifications
- Willingness to continue to train as an internal auditor.
- Strong academic background – minimum 2:1 degree from a leading university.
- Part or newly qualified CIMA/ACA / ACCA.
- Excellent written & oral communication skills.
- Willingness to travel, UK and EU.
- Audit/Accounting experience is necessary.
