Lead Front End Developer

Bristol/Hybrid

Up to £80k + Bonus

Join our team as a Lead Front End Developer. You will lead our front-end development team to create interactive web applications using cutting-edge technologies. You will be responsible for a team of developers with varying experience levels, from junior to senior developers. Your role will also involve maintaining and enhancing web applications, both legacy and recent, developed with various frameworks. Adaptability and strong problem-solving skills are essential in this role.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Manage a team of front-end developers with mixed abilities.
  • Conduct regular one-on-one meetings with team members and hold weekly development meetings.
  • Plan, develop, and maintain interactive web applications using our preferred technologies.
  • Ensure the codebase maintains a high level of quality through code reviews.
  • Lead the front-end development, ensuring timely and top-quality delivery.
  • Collaborate with design and audiovisual teams to integrate creative assets.
  • Address and resolve any issues identified by our QA team or clients.
  • Take charge of managing live issues assigned to our front-end development team.
  • Conduct daily stand-up meetings to share progress with the team working on web applications.
  • Contribute ideas and improvements to our front-end development practices.
  • Assist in the hiring process for front-end developers.

Qualifications:

Essential:

  • Several years of front-end development experience in a professional setting.
  • Previous experience managing a development team or leading front-end projects.
  • Strong expertise in front-end technologies, particularly [mention preferred technologies].
  • Strong problem-solving and adaptability skills.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • High coding and development standards.

Nice to Haves:

  • Experience with additional front-end technologies like Typescript and Node.js.
  • Previous experience working with web applications or interactive interfaces.

  • Experience in agile development environments.
  • Knowledge of automation technologies and tools.
