An attractive new role has arisen within one of the top Lloyd's market insurance businesses. The Lloyd’s Planning Manager is a critical role within the FP&A team. This position will be based in their central London office reporting directly to the Head of FP&A for the International division. The main purpose of this role is to lead and own the Syndicate Business Planning process (SBF).

Key duties as follows:

  • Leading the annual Syndicate Business Planning process (SBF) and subsequent re-submissions to Lloyd’s. This includes:
    • Ownership of the SBF model and co-ordinating the input from the relevant departments (Risk, Underwriting and Actuarial & Underwriting Management)
    • Submission to Lloyd’s through Core Market Returns
    • Manage the SBF review process with underwriting and senior management teams
    • Manage the full timetable from production, management review, Board review through to the final submission to Lloyd’s
    • Deliver subsequent re-submissions in line with Lloyd’s standards and policy guidelines
  • Develop/enhance syndicate MI for reporting progress against the plan to the Board, Executive Committee and MA Underwriting Committee
  • Support with the production of Own Risk and Solvency Assessment ORSA for the syndicates
  • Liaise directly with Lloyd’s to facilitate response to enquiries on the SBF
  • Act as the Finance Business Partner to the underwriting teams

The successful applicant will possess and demonstrate the following:

  • Qualified Accountant (ACA, CIMA, ACCA) with at least 5 years PQE
  • At least 7 years progressive finance experience gained within insurance accounting, Lloyd’s planning and Lloyd’s reporting experience (ESSENTIAL)
  • Significant experience in the London Insurance market with exposure to Lloyd’s 
  • Proficient in all areas of forecasting, accounting and reserving for a London market business, with exposure to complex systems / transactions
  • Exposure to reporting and underwriting systems such as IRIS, Oracle, Hyperion (or similar) and data warehouse technology
  • First class communication skills with the ability business partner with non-finance functions/professionals
