Eames Consulting are exclusively working with one of the largest, and best regarded providers of political and credit risk insurance in the London & Lloyds market, who is looking to add individuals to the team at senior underwriter and underwriter level. (director & associate director level banking equivalent)

You will be working closely with the head of department as well as the in house analyst and other underwriters to write profitable business within the political & credit risk arena. This company have a strong rating and broad risk appetite which makes them one of the key lead markets within London. Thus you will also be regularly negotiating lead terms with the brokers and will be meeting with & presenting to clients (Banks / Traders / ECA’s / Exporters).

Whilst we are considering candidates from competitor insurers and insurance brokers, we are also looking to identify individuals from investment banking institutions who have some knowledge of insurance as a risk sharing / capital relief solution and would consider a transition into the insurance market.

For investment banking professionals, ideally you will have experience of both credit analysis on a multitude of products / territories / industries as well as syndication or origination experience. The client is more than happy to invest time in training to bridge any gaps that come from the move between the two industries.

On a day to day basis you’ll be looking at a number of opportunities presented by broking houses, you’ll be responsible for establishing whether the deal is one you wish to support, whether the territory / industry / obligor fits within risk appetite, ensuring that pricing is appropriate and all other terms are satisfactory, etc. The environment will be faster paced than a traditional deal team within a bank, however there is less regulatory pressure and hence decision making is a quick process.

If you think this might appeal, then please don’t hesitate to get in touch for a confidential discussion.

Applicants must have current eligibility to work in the EU and visas will not be sponsored.
