Job Description

I am currently instructed on a mid-level pricing role with a leading personal lines insurer. The role will cover both personal and commercial lines and will be based predominantly in London, with some weekly travel required to the South of England. This role would suit an experienced pricing analyst looking to broaden their exposure and achieve a high level of visibility across the business whilst being a key part of the company pricing strategy. 

Key responsibilities

  • The creation of complex statistical models.
  • Delivering effective price optimisation
  • The review of competitor performance and reporting on improvements through this analysis.
  • Undertaking root cause analysis and reporting on the impact of pricing activities.
  • Documenting the strategic actions taken and reporting upon changes.
  • Liaising with other departments such as Underwriting, Reserving and Capital Modelling. 

Key requirements

  • Proven background in GI pricing, preferably with exposure to commercial lines.
  • A degree or equivalent qualification in a mathematical, scientific or statistical subject.
  • The ability to create statistical models for conversion, retention, price sensitivity and propensity.
  • Strong experience in the use of price optimisation software.
  • An understanding of machine learning and the ability to work closely with the Data Science Team.
  • Confidence to present and report on information to senior management, stakeholders and other departments.
  • Excellent communication skills, able to work collaboratively with other departments and explain complex analytical findings.
