Job Description

Working for a well respected and high performing business within the Private Equity space, you will join a team focused on the Valuation, Oversight & Analysis of a portfolio of the firms Investments (Direct positions, Co-Investments & Fund Investments).

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform GP valuation reviews and verification for the Valuation Committee and External partners
  • Preparation of Valuation Committee materials - examples include valuation of co-investments and the monthly valuations for regulated investment funds & attendance at meetings to provide strategic insight
  • Attend the non-co-investment valuation committee meetings to provide input and support to members
  • Assisting with the oversight of the Data team's quarterly production cycles particularly for the more complex valuations (e.g. investments with provisions, debt investments, etc.)
  • Assisting the Head of with the implementation of a new strategy/process for verification of co-investment valuations, as well as the development of the valuation process building efficiencies and focusing on continuous improvement
  • Review of daily private equity valuations for daily NAV funds

Knowledge and Experience Required

  • A strong academic pedigree throughout schooling & degree level - with a demonstrated aptitude in quantitative and qualitative analysis preferred
  • A minimum of two years of client-facing experience preferred - Gained within Consultancy, Advisory or Industry
  • Progress / Completion of CFA, CEIV, ASA, ACA, ACCA or equivalent preferred
  • Valuation, accounting, or auditing experience preferred, especially relating to private equity funds/ illiquid investments and/or company valuations
  • Good knowledge of global fund and corporate vehicle structures
  • Experience in analysing General Partner valuation reports and ability to prepare financial models (e.g. discounted cash flow, market multiple, market transaction)
  • Strong understanding of valuation methodologies including good understanding of best practice valuation techniques under IPEV/US GAAP for level 3 securities
  • Performing valuation analysis on a wide range of illiquid investments broadly distributed across industries and geographies while using accepted and relevant approaches and theory
