Job Description

This role is a part of the policy and standards team within risk. The candidate is expected to support the management of wholesale credit issues, whether prompted by external regulatory change, supervisory finding or the desire to improve and harmonise internal procedures, as they relate to the firms’ internal models.

The candidate will also be familiar with CRR capital regulations and be able to summarise consultation papers and extract key issues, including Powerpoint skills and will have experience in writing requirements documents or policy/system documentation. 

Role

  • One of the candidates’ key deliverables will be to improve the efficiency of the firms’ CRR attestation, both from a work flow perspective and in terms of tracking non-compliant items. 
  • Taking a lead role in running and improving the firms’ CRR attestation process, including its efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Preparation of submissions and requests for information to regulators, including robust challenge and driving improvements where required.
  • Provide the business with timely communication of regulatory developments.
  • Proactive engagement on regulatory change across Wholesale Risk; providing regulatory advice and support to the business.

Person

  • Educated to university degree level or equivalent and , and it would be desirable for them to hold a relevant professional qualification.
  • Experience in Wholesale banking including commercial banking, global banking & markets or wholesale credit.
  • Good knowledge of the regulatory landscape particularly relating to Risk governance and/or models; Previous experience in a Regulatory Capital policy function would be valued.
  • Some understanding of statistics and concepts of the risk modelling process would be advantageous.
