Job Description

A CSM Project Manager is required within a leading insurance firm to help drive forward some of their most challenging and interesting projects.

This is a contract paying INSIDE IR35

What will the role involve?

The overall challenge is to prove an IFRS17 reporting 15 day timetable. This will include steps such as:

  • Plan - Produce a detailed plan for achieving a 15 working day cycle for IFRS17 for Comparative Run, then project manage that plan. Activities included on the plan will include:

i. SMEs and DAP confirming that the required timings of the working day timetable are achievable.

ii. Ensuring any required acceleration is included in prioritisation for delivery before Comparative Run.

iii Acceleration activities delivered by deep dives and workshops

iv. Acceleration of any areas not covered by deep dives or other initiatives.

v. Acceleration could be required of existing BAU activities.

vi. Documentation of the working day timetable (flowchart etc)

  • Timetable (1) - There is a very high level aspirational Comparative Run timetable and the current milestone is add another layer of detail by mid December including: work with a project manager who is familiar with the IFRS17 timetable and the current IFRS4 timetable owner to produce a mid level 15 days WDT for Comparative Run including hand offs. A Business Analyst should be available to "hold the pen" on the documentation. The purpose of the mid level timetable is to highlight where requirements exist for acceleration.
  • Timetable (2) - Repeat Comparative Run timetable exercise for a 15 WDT for IFRS17/Solvency II once IFRS4 no longer exists
  • Reporting (1) - report weekly on the progress of the plan, deep dives/workshops and the overall working day timetable workstream. Run the weekly meeting
  • Reporting (2) - Work with existing WDT project manager to plan and report fortnightly on the dependencies, risk and milestones for Controls and WDT activities (Delivery Meeting)
  • Support planning of controls work

What knowledge and experience are we looking for?

  • General insurance experience preferred
  • Good understanding of operational systems, processes and controls.
  • Business analysis skills / experience would be advantageous
  • Analytical, investigative approach with ability to work systematically and unsupervised, to tight deadlines and with multiple competing priorities.
  • Pragmatic problem-solver with commercial awareness and a flexible, collaborative approach.
  • Self-motivated, organised and able to assimilate, manage and communicate salient details relating to large volumes of information, including technical issues and data.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills. Report-writing experience with a high standard of English to Board level is a pre-requisite.
  • IT-literate with good numerical skills. Good knowledge of database management.
  • Extensive knowledge of Microsoft Office applications (particularly Visio, Excel, PowerPoint Word and SharePoint
