Exciting opportunity to join this global speciality broker as they continue to grow. join an establish governance function you will be accountable for undertaking the quality assurance reviews to ensure the business is complying with the Operations Manual together with the processes and policies put in place by the organisation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for implementing the firm's methodology with regard to quality assurance, in collaboration with Head of Operations and operations team
  • Work closely with the Business Risk Manager, Compliance Manager, Head of Operations, Quality Lead, Legal, the Internal Audit function
  • Conduct quality assurance reviews and ensure the business are complying with the Operations Manual together with the processes and policies put in place in respect of its pre and post placement activities
  • Ensure an optimum number of file reviews are undertaken in the course of the year in accordance with the QA Plan. In the first year this is envisaged to be at least one file a quarter for each division and may involve development of self- certification by division with oversight of QA Lead
  • Support best practices and consistent use of processes through file reviews
  • Identify any error and omission risks or practices which Legal should be aware of
  • Produce a report following each QA review, highlighting any deficiencies; together with recommendations as to rectification of bad practice or identifying where policies/ processes are insufficient
  • Challenge the business by sharing insights and trends in quality assurance failings and gaps found in the firm
  • Take these insights and trends and make recommendations to improve processes in order to rectify gaps in current processes, policies, procedures
  • Work with Operations and Compliance to ensure the QA methodology is reflective of business needs at all stages of development

Skills & Experience:

  • Speciality Insurance and/or Reinsurance experience and knowledge of London markets and products is essential
  • Technical knowledge of quality assurance within Insurance and/or Reinsurance
  • Transferable speciality wordings experience helpful
  • Outstanding written and verbal presentation skills
  • Excellent influencing and negotiation skills and the ability to present issues and resolutions in a persuasive manner
  • Ability to forge relationships and credibility with senior business leaders
  • Strong judgement and resilience when challenged
  • Proven ability to engage colleagues
