Job Description

A very well established, highly successful, and expanding international insurance broker is looking to appoint an experienced FP&A Analyst to join their London finance team. This role reports directly to the CFO and will work closely alongside their regional and global senior executives.  

The primary responsibilities of the FP&A Analyst will be to support senior management in variety of financial analysis tasks, such as monthly management reporting and variance analysis, budgeting and forecasting, client profitability, and strategic planning. Duties will include the review and co-ordination of financial analysis across different offices, business functions and business lines, in support of financial management. 

Key responsibilities:

  • Work with the regional heads, Group CFO, and Group Executive to ensure regional and group targets are met
  • Own regional weekly revenue forecasting; work with the local and regional teams to ensure timely and accurate forecasting (monthly/annually)
  • Provide suggestions to management when targets are not being achieved
  • Perform revenue scenario planning to assist management with their projections of various outcomes
  • Monitor projected functional and overall expenses
  • Support Regional and Group wide ad-hoc projects 
  • Build strong working relationships with senior management, corporate department heads, and office heads
  • Seek to develop new initiatives in order to continuously improve the Financial Planning process
  • Plan and manage the annual planning and forecast process
  • Organise and assess budgets for revenue, expenses and related financial data for a variety of timescales
  • Periodic budget to actual variance analyses for use at Board meetings
  • Pro-forma analysis off the back of own initiative as well as management request (i.e. impact of the acquisitions, divestitures, investments)
  • Forecast KPIs and compare to the targets set for both the region and Group.
  • Developing and inputting to the sub company and Group boards packs 
  • Support senior management with investor and bank presentations
  • Consider and illustrate financing alternatives and capital structure, as and when needs develop
  • Assist with the management and execution of due diligence processes, as and when needs develop
  • Demonstrate appropriate understanding of accounting principles and internal controls

Knowledge & skills required

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
  • Audit foundation a very strong preference
  • Strong preference for accounting qualification / MBA 
  • Prior FP&A experience is essential
  • Insurance industry experience preferred but not essential
  • Experience of implementing Financial Planning processes would be very beneficial
  • Financial modeling expertise highly beneficial
  • Gravitas and ability to interact with Senior Leadership
  • Sound understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
