This is a great opportunity for a seasoned risk professional to join this global specialty re/insurer. Reporting into the Head of Risk you will have a Risk Analyst as a direct report.

You'll be providing support the Specialty underwriting lines of business, you will be the main point of contact to ensure the risk framework addresses the needs of the underwriting function. Additionally, this role will have responsibility for the risk and governance elements of the Operational Resilience framework.

Key Tasks:

  • Develop relationships with our Specialty underwriters, ensuring that their risk profiles and control frameworks are understood, working effectively and are documented.

  • Assume day-to-day responsibility for the risk and governance elements of Operational Resilience, including scenario testing and annual self-assessment process, within the BAU framework.

  • Develop the risk framework to ensure it continues to reflect best market practice.

  • Shared management and responsibility of quarterly risk register review process and maintenance of related documentation, focusing on Specialty underwriting lines of business, Strategic and Financial risks and controls.

  • Assisting Head of Risk with maintenance of the Emerging Risks register and framework, including performing deep dive reviews.

  • Shared management of conducting the operational risk scenario analysis process for our International entities.

  • Shared management of the non-technical aspects of validation, including production of non-technical validation report.

  • Assist Head of Risk with production of ORSA reports.

  • Produce risk reports for Risk and Capital Management Committee.

  • Review and update, where necessary, qualitative risk documentation.

  • Other ad hoc duties as required by the business.

Skills Required:

  • Five-plus year's insurance industry experience, within a Risk/second line function.

  • Educated to degree level and/or relevant professional qualification, e.g. Institute of Risk Management, CII.

  • Strong analytical, written and communication skills.

  • Strong management, organisational and planning skills.

  • Excellent attention to detail.

  • Effectively operate in a team-oriented and collaborative environment.

  • Effectively operate on a remote/home-working basis.

  • Highly motivated and enthusiastic.

  • Strong Excel skills.

  • Experience of using risk software is advantageous.
