Job Description

Economic and trade sanctions are an ever growing and significant issue for the insurance sector and firms have to ensure robust governance and effective risk procedures are in place.

I am currently working with a global insurance firm who are looking to appoint a sanctions manager. You will report into the head of financial crime and bring in-depth technical knowledge to the role and be responsible for advising the business on not just sanctions but also enhanced due diligence surrounding PEPs and other high risk third parties. You will be expected to provide real time sanctions advice to issues and questions raised by the business. You must also be able to demonstrate how the UN and EU drive sanctions legislation as well as how this is administered by HMT and OFAC.

This is a senior management position within the business and you will be expected to deputise for the head of financial crime in their absence. This position would suit an individual who has ambitions on one day becoming a head of financial crime: extremely strong communication skills, as dealing with and liaising with senior stakeholders across the business, are therefore imperative.

Key skills

  • Experience of working within the financial services industry
  • Significant experience of sanctions related roles and providing sanctions advice
