IT Security architect

Hybrid (London)

The client am currently working with is a leading specialty insurance group with offices in the United States, UK, Europe and other locations, covering over 100 countries and underwriting more than 100 classes of speciality insurance.

They are seeking to hire a qualified IT security architect to provide guidance on security architecture, design, configuration, to protect confidentiality, integrity and availability of information assets and help to design and assist on new security technologies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Serve as IT security architecture point of contact for European teams, providing guidance regarding security requirements and design.
  • Contribute to IT security risk assessment and road mapping activities.
  • Help to define the architecture and standards for IT security technology.
  • Design and advise on projects to introduce new IT security technology, including the ability to work at all levels from concept to configuration assistance.
  • Help to define and document the architecture for the IT security technology stack.
  • Assist in design of new IT security solutions to integrate with current architecture/systems.
  • Aid in identifying the need for and writing IT security policies and standards.
  • Support working with vendors to select tools appropriate to the technology standards and business objectives.
  • Support security analysts in their roles troubleshooting and continuously improving existing IT security systems.

Skills & Experience:

  • SANS designation(s) or equivalent top-tier security certification.
  • AWS security or other relevant cloud certifications.
  • Possess and have ability to apply knowledge of IT security principles, practices, and procedures.
  • General multi-platform information security knowledge in networking, common server and desktop operating systems, and application systems.
  • General cloud security knowledge including cloud security principles and background securing AWS environments.
  • Experience with DevSecOps environments and relevant controls.
  • Knowledge of information security tools for intrusion monitoring, filtering, event management, compliance management and vulnerability management.
  • General knowledge of regulatory requirements such as Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX), Payment Cards Industry (PCI), Health Information Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA), along with US and European data privacy laws.
