A boutique alternative asset manager is looking to appoint a senior financial analyst into a newly created role focused on a mixture of financial analysis, MI/data analysis and financial modelling. The firm operates across several asset classes with a strong track record of success in the UK and Europe and well-respected brand name in the market. Their Finance Director is looking to find someone for 6 months (or potentially longer) who can support a number of critical projects that broadly fall under the banner of financial analysis and are largely ad hoc in nature, requiring someone who can analyse large sets of data, produce forecasts/financial models and insightful analysis around financial as well as non-financial business drivers. This role is likely to be reasonably fluid and project led and as such you need to be comfortable working autonomously with support from the FD as needed.
In terms of background we'd ideally need someone to have…
- Formal accounting qualifications - ACA/CA, ACCA. ACMA or equivalent - with a background in financial analysis, MI, FP&A or similar - likely 8 to 10 years plus collective experience in analytical finance roles
- Advanced Excel skills - able to manipulate data (ie: sum ifs, pivot tables); macros or VBA a plus
- Worked in a financial services business or with financial services companies and preferably in a SME; experience in alternative investments desirable
- A confident and approachable personality, excellent communication skills in writing and face to face; comfortable working for a discreet asset manager that values privacy.
