The company have a sizeable European portfolio and specialise in mainly alternative asset management including private equity, real estate and infrastructure. They have interests in a myriad of structures, industries and assets, from traditional buy outs and growth capital to debt and credit, energy, student housing, infrastructure and emerging markets. The majority of finance and operations are outsourced making for a highly commercial and business facing role with this position sitting as the most senior Finance position in the UK.
Responsibilities will include:
- Oversight of all fund accounting and reporting for a large and complex portfolio. This will include reviewing and managing all accounting for the underlying fund entities and SPVs.
- Partner with the Investment team to provide strategic and technical financial support.
- Present financial management information to fund managers.
- Principal point of contact for auditors, lawyers and other internal and external stakeholders.
- Manage fund liquidity requirements including cashflow forecasts, asset management fees, expense reimbursement and capital expenditure.
- Deal support, both pre and post acquisition including managing external advisers around fund structuring
- Involvement in a raft of internal projects.
- Management of two junior accountants.
Your background:
Qualified accountant - CA/ACA or equivalent - with experience in a similar fund accounting role for closed end funds. Ideally this will be in private equity or real estate at a boutique or larger asset manager.
Preferably some deal support and/or structuring knowledge with the ability to work with the investment team as their trusted internal adviser.
Strong relationship management, influencing and negotiation skills.
Confident presentation skills, articulate and able to explain complex matters simply.
