Job Description

Our client is currently looking for a senior near-qualified/qualified actuary to join their financial risk management team. The role will be reporting into the CRO and will be heavily involved with developing and monitoring compliance with the companys' framework and to develop best-practices for the business units. 

What the role entails: 

  • Support in challenging and overseeing operations from a financial risk perspective, including review and challenge of (non-economic) assumptions changes, product development and pricing, economic and statutory capital management and actuarial models
  • Analyse financial risks in asset, product portfolio and business initiatives and provide practical and effective recommendations
  • Maintain risk policies and standards for financial risk management, including, underwriting, interest, liquidity, counterparty and mismatch risks
  • Work closely with other functions, including actuarial and Investment in other areas of ALM and investment mandate setting
  • Work together with risk team members to provide effective and cohesive risk management support

What they are looking for: 

  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in the life insurance market with at least an actuarial associate designation
  • Excellent understanding of risks that are relevant to life insurance
  • Good knowledge in market consistent and traditional insurance valuation principles
  • Knowledge of statutory capital requirements
  • Strong ability to influence senior stakeholders
  • Good command of oral and written English
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills
