Join the established oversight & assurance function of this global speciality insurer.

Reporting to the Deputy Head of Compliance this role will contributing to, and deliver, the annual Compliance Oversight and Assurance plan. Providing support the Head of Compliance with the management of the firm's compliance framework and activities, and in particular with the provision of oversight and assurance activity.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Responsible for conducting regular, thematic, deep dive and ad hoc reviews to provide oversight and assurance to the firm
  • Provide second line oversight of key business projects as required
  • Supporting the overall management of the Compliance Framework and taking responsibility for key aspects such as the Internal Control Framework, Lloyd's Oversight Principles compliance and maintenance of Compliance related policies
  • Identify current and new regulatory requirements and test against them
  • Undertake root cause analysis and independent investigation of financial crime incidents
  • Undertake special investigations as required by Senior Management
  • Monitor, analyse and escalate potential areas of concern, incidents and breaches through appropriate channels
  • Assist with preparation of reports to parent company, boards and committees
  • Communicate compliance requirements/expectations across all of our business entities
  • Provide support to other members of the Compliance Oversight and Assurance Team
  • Promoting good compliance culture across the business. Raising awareness and understanding of regulatory risk
  • To be aware of and comply with the conduct rules as set out by the PRA & FCA Standards of Conduct
  • To be aware of and comply with the relevant rules, regulations and requirements laid down by any relevant regulatory, statutory and / or supervisory bodies or authorities in which the company is registered, trades and/or operates

Knowledge & experience required -

  • Extensive relevant experience in a similar role within the insurance sector
  • Knowledge of the UK regulatory regime and regulatory agenda including financial crime
  • Insurance/London Market experience desirable
  • Audit, legal or underwriting background preferred but not essential
  • Knowledge of other regulatory regimes applicable to business written in the London Market
  • Progress towards ICA, CII or other relevant professional examinations
