Job Description

My client is seeking a proactive, strongly motivated qualified life actuary with a good knowledge and understanding of financial and insurance risk issues affecting life insurance firms. This job offers the opportunity to work in a dynamic team and be engaged with a wide variety of life insurers where you would: 

  • Lead risk-based assessments and oversight (e.g. Solvency II reviews and Part VII transfers) of life insurance firms to identify and mitigate risks. 
  • Lead research/specialist work in key risk areas (e.g. credit risk, dependencies). 
  • Lead thematic projects through quantitative analysis, highlighting key issues and emerging risks.

Suitable candidates will be qualified life actuaries, with a solid understanding of the key financial and life insurance risk areas for insurers and the actuarial controls necessary to ensure these are managed prudently. A good technical understanding of areas such as Solvency II (standard formula and internal model), stochastic modelling and realistic balance sheets would be required.
