Job Description

Our client is a large reinsurer who have developed a book of multi-line treaty business. They currently require an underwriter to join the team to help grow and maintain the existing book of business. The book primarily consists of terror and cyber business but at least 15-20% of the book is political risk & trade credit. The team currently consists of two people, the Class Underwriter and an Assistant Underwriter and therefore, anyone coming in will sit between the two current team members and be able to bridge that gap and run with a large proportion of the book. The book is driven from London Market and Lloyd's clients with a few global clients and there is fantastic exposure to grow a profitable book of business. Ideally you will have political risk and trade credit experience and be able to drive the conversation with the actuaries and liaise with brokers regarding new submissions without too much oversight. The key characteristic is having an analytical perspective in order to have credible conversations with actuaries and brokers. Applicants will ideally need to come from a reinsurance treaty market but that can be across underwriting or broking. The preference is for someone with political risk or trade credit experience to help drive the growth of the account with the brokers.
