Job Description

Presenting a unique and highly technical vacancy within the central stress testing function of a global systemic bank. The function is responsible for assessing the banks capital adequacy and overall vulnerabilities, continuously strengthening the resilience of the bank through improved risk and capital management. The role holder will play a key part in developing the function’s strategic and regulatory programmes. Applicants must have prior experience working in  a stress testing (or equivalent) function, be highly analytical (statistical analysis) and be qualified with either an accounting/treasury/risk qualification.

Responsibilities

  • Design and implementation of tools for internal and ad-hoc stress tests performed or coordinated by the central stress testing function (including both development of methodologies and all aspects of engagement with developers and PMOs)
  • Design and implementation of tools to conduct review and challenge of stress testing results & first pass analysis of complex data sets to ensure integrity and accuracy
  • Benchmarking and outlier analysis for major stress tests
  • Design and execution of internal stress tests – including development of approach and methodology,  calculation, engagement with Global Business, Function and Region stakeholders and Documentation
  • Present and communicate stress testing results to senior management
  • Consolidation of stress testing outputs into cohesive documentation and recommendations for management
  • Support for additional regular stress testing activities (e.g. recovery plan stress testing and  reverse stress testing)
  • Contributing to ad-hoc stress tests and analysis/development requests

Requirements

  • Qualified with either an Accounting/Treasury/Risk qualification
  • Strong academic background educated to degree level – statistical based degrees preferred
  • Experience using analytical packages e.g. ‘R’ or SAS
  • Experience working in a Stress Testing (or equivalent) function within a large Financial Services organisation
