The Business Manager is a strategic professional who closely follows latest trends in own field and adapts them for application within own job and the business. Typically a small number of people within the business that provide the same level of expertise. Excellent communication skills required in order to negotiate internally, often at a senior level. Developed communication and diplomacy skills are required in order to guide, influence and convince others, in particular colleagues in other areas and occasional external customers. Accountable for significant direct business results or authoritative advice regarding the operations of the business. Necessitates a degree of responsibility over technical strategy. Responsible for handling strategic change and operational excellence within the IA function, covering a broad spectrum of areas from operational, learning, innovation, staffing matters and senior stakeholders engagement both internally and externally.

Responsibilities:

  • Support the IA APAC Leadership team and particularly the IA Regional Chief Auditor in the development of materials, presentations and papers for governance and oversight committees including regional BRCCs, meetings with regulators as well as senior executive management
  • Support the IA APAC leadership team in developing and executing strategic and best practice initiatives that encompasses both internal and industry facing activities.
  • Support APAC Regional Chief Auditor in activities such as audit plan management, budgeting and forecasting, resource planning, project management and management reporting  
  • Review, design, and execute on improvements to the IA APAC Organization Design based on business and market needs in collaboration with IA teams.
  • Coordinate, plan and create agenda for leadership meetings, country visits and town halls including reviewing and updating briefing notes across APAC
  • Support creation of high quality senior visit agendas with IA EMT/stakeholders and other seniors leadership that come into APAC
  • Support coordination of APAC-wide projects.
  • Serve as a delegate and ensure timely execution on critical items when APAC Regional CA is unavailable.
  • Manage audit refresh activities: including liaising with IA Operations to understand timelines and expectations, liaise with and other IA teams in audit plan changes, cycle breaks, audit hours estimations and resource expectations across APAC
  • Develops effective senior line management relationships
  • Develop content and manage internal team communication
  • Develop content and execute on key regulatory and stakeholder presentations, enhance regulatory interactions by providing support for regulatory engagement and examinations
  • Develop an in-depth understanding of the dynamics of the business, market and economy

Qualifications and Competencies:

  • BA/BS or equivalent.
  • Knowledge and understanding of Internal Audit processes particularly from an operational perspective including resource management, operational effectiveness
  • Experience of having done a business manager / chief of staff role and / or in Internal Audit
  • Strong project management skills are a must to drive the adoption of change initiatives including innovation
  • Demonstrates strong judgment, political astuteness, and sensitivity to cultural diversity
  • Possesses strong interpersonal skills, makes sound decisions, exhibiting initiative and intuitive thinking
  • Effective negotiation skills, a proactive and 'no surprises' approach in communicating issues and strength in sustaining independent views.  This individual must be an articulate and effective communicator, both orally and in writing, with an energetic, charismatic and approachable style.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to influence at all levels of management
  • Self-confidence to drive decisions and budget/headcount limits across team
  • Strong leadership skills with a proven track record in managing teams and making a positive impact on the organization. 
  • Ability to efficiently plan and organize workload from various sources within tight deadlines
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Fluent in English (written/verbal) / Additional language skills helpful in the region a plus
