Job Description

Leading insurance company is seeking a tax accountant professional to join their London desk.  This role has been created through internal mobility and is an ideal opportunity for a candidate in finance to gain wider experience in a more analytical position.

Key responsibilities:

  • To assist the head of tax in the reporting & compliance aspects of tax in the international division
  • Create and maintain tax reports from management information system
  • Liaise with corporate tax function on various reporting requirements
  • Analyse the P&L expense classification for all UK companies for tax purposes
  • Analyse capital expenditure for tax purposes
  • Analysis of profit & loss and technical reserves by location for US tax purposes
  • Tax True Up calculations and journal postings
  • Co-ordinate quarterly information requests from US tax team
  • Maintain the list of inter-company trading transactions
  • Review of draft Transfer Pricing reports in European offices

Qualifications and experience specification:

  • Tax accounting experience within the Insurance Industry or tax experience gained with practice (ideally big 4)
  • Accounting qualification, part or fully qualified (ACCA, ACA, CIMA)
  • Good understanding of accounting principles and interdependencies with tax
  • Familiarity with tax accounting
  • Strong Excel Skills
  • Excellent academic background
