Excellent Tax Associate Role for a Prestigious Underwriting Agency in Amsterdam
Excellent opportunity for a Leading Underwriting Agency. My client is seeking to appoint a high calibre Tax lawyer to assist in growing its Tax liability insurance business across the Benelux Market.
My client provides tailored W&I and Tax insurance solutions within the Benelux region. Tax Insurance can be provided either in conjunction with an M&A transaction or as a separate stand-alone liability.
Underwriting M&A tax insurance is highly complex and bespoke. Most underwriters in the market, however, do not have extensive M&A / tax experience. My client has realised the opportunity and is building a team of lawyers from Top Tier law firms that are able to think strategically in analysing and negotiating these policies, thereby offering their clients unparalleled insurance advice. This approach has contributed greatly to their impressive growth.
As an Underwriter, you will potentiate your commercial skills, as you will be negotiating with brokers, but also your technical skills, as you'll be evaluating the risk of insuring tax liability risks, determining if it's profitable for the insurance company to insure that risk. After doing so, you will be also set a price and establish the insurance premium that will be charged in exchange for taking on that risk. In essence, you'll be in power to decide whether to work with one broker or another.
A typical day to day activity would be essentially sourcing, developing and underwriting Tax Liability risks across continental Europe, but in particular risks in the Benelux. You would be also developing and maintaining strong market relationships with brokers clients and carrier partners.
