Eames Consulting is currently working with a leading multinational insurer who is looking for an M&A Underwriter to join their team. We are interested in individuals currently underwriting or broking M&A insurance as well Corporate Lawyers who have a detailed understanding of M&A cases. 

Individuals experienced in APac based transactions would also be very interesting as this could be an APac focused role for the right candidate, either based out of the London office permanently, or based from Hong Kong / Singapore, following initial training in London. Relocation / visa sponsorship will be included for those presently resident in HK or Singapore.

Key responsibilities:

  • Reviewing and analysing private M&A transaction documents, purchase agreements and due diligence reports
  • Preparing coverage and proposing prices as well as negotiating warranty and indemnity policy terms with brokers
  • Contributing to the growth of the portfolio via taking on marketing and development initiatives
  • Maintaining existing relationships with brokers and solicitors as well as developing new ones on an international level
  • Potentially taking on responsibility for the company’s Asia-Pacific M&A insurance offering
  • Be rigorous in reviewing policy forms, clear about where coverage is drawn and execute underwriting pricing in a profitable manner within given authority limits

Requirements:

  • Experience M&A Underwriting, Broking within the UK or Asia Pac or,
  • A qualified solicitor with at least 2yrs PQE within corporate M&A, either in the UK or Asia Pac regions only
  • The ability to leverage the brand’s capabilities in order to accelerate growth in conjunction with the current M&A market climate
  • Strong negotiation, marketing and communication skills as well as an in depth understanding of M&A transactions

Those from a legal background would be provided with full training on policy form, pricing, and the commercial attributes associated with underwriting, thus this is an excellent opportunity to have more control of your workload, more autonomy and more decision making power than you would have in practice.

Those from an Underwriting or Broking background would get the opportunity to join a rapidly expanding team who have access to, arguably, the best distribution and resource in the market.

In return you’ll receive a generous basic salary and excellent bonus / share scheme which could see you receiving an additional 50% on top of your basic.
