Global Retail Bank is currently hiring for a Treasury Accountant to join their Finance division in London. This role has arisen due to an internal move and will manage a small team and contribute to the development of policy and controls for the Treasury Finance function.
Responsibilities:
- Preparation of the accounting reconciliation process for the business unit and ensure that it fully complies with AORP policy, Risk policies control objectives
- Implementing accounting processes that are required to ensure correct representation of assets, liabilities, and profit & loss
- Ensuring timely submission to Group Reporting of Treasury Packs and ensure accurate mapping.
- Work closely with the System Development teams in New Treasury Combined Team to deliver change, system enhancements and put processes and controls in place for new business activity.
- Responsibility of the accounting reconciliation process for the business unit and ensure that it fully complies with AORP policy, Risk policies control objectives
- Assisting the operation of a process of continual improvement of reporting standards and efficiency
Requirements:
- Part or Recently Qualified Accountant (ACA or ACCA)
- Proven Treasury Finance experience in either a Banking role or from a Big 4 Consultancy Audit role
- Good knowledge and understanding of treasury/wholesale products and services, including cash and funding instruments, derivatives, and bonds
- Good understanding of key drivers of wholesale markets profit & loss and balance sheet movements.
- Strong IT skills - knowledge of front office booking systems as well as Excel
- Proven experience in managing a small team
This role involves regular interaction with key stakeholders across Treasury Finance, Risk and broader finance division and is therefore essential that you have strong stakeholder management skills.
